Kia ora! I’m Yvette.
I’m from New Zealand and I’ve spent the last 3 years travelling the world.
In 2016 I sold most of my possessions, squeezed the rest into a suitcase and booked a one-way ticket to the other side of the world.
During my solo travels, I have become somewhat of an ‘accidental adventurist’.
I’ve lived in a van in the Canadian rockies, worked in the mountains at a ski resort, hiked the (very illegal) Stairway to Heaven in Hawaii and most recently, hiked the length of Scotland! I wouldn’t call myself the fittest person out there, or say that I have great physical dexterity, but I somehow find myself in ‘situations’ and manage to come out of them (relatively) unscathed. Basically, if I can travel- anyone can!
This blog is a collection of my very best hiking and travel advice, anecdotes and lessons learnt from my expat lifestyle living as a travel blogger in Scotland.
